Revolving Touch Screen Mini Laptop Notebook Reviews
Wednesday, June 23, 2010 17:38 No CommentsSince their introduction, mini laptops have taken the laptop world by storm. They are also known as netbooks as they are highly geared for surfing the new and viewing online content. If you have ever used on of these mini laptops, it is easy to see why it has been such a phenomenon. They are very portable, affordable and extremely practical.
At the time of writing (Jan 2010), one of the latest mini laptop models in the market would be the Asus Eee 1005PE 10.1-inch netbook. It is one of the latest models in the iconic Asus Eee netbook series and one of the most exciting netbook models yet! No mini laptop reviews will be complete without mentioning the 1005PE. Generally, the Asus 1005PE is almost identical to the older (and very successful) 1005HA model except for several upgrades.
First of all, it comes with the new Intel Atom N450 processor (1.66Ghz). Compared to other netbook models, the Asus Eee 1005PE has one of the widest ranges of features. It comes with Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11b/g/n wi-fi connectivity, a multi-touch track pad, stereo speakers, and the Windows 7 Starter OS. This model now also comes with a longer battery life. The battery on the Asus Eee 1005PE can last up to a mind-boggling 14 hours on one full charge. Despite the upgrades, the Asus Eee 1005PE remains very well priced. It is currently selling at around $379 per unit.
HP Pavilion DV6000 Notebook Reviews (pics, specs)
Wednesday, May 26, 2010 17:38 No CommentsThe article comes from shopbatteries.ca
I purchased a HP Pavilion dv6000 to replace my dying Toshiba Satellite P35 notebook. The dv6000 seemed to be a good candidate as it came with an ATI Mobility Radeon X600 graphics card and other options that provided for a great desktop replacement style notebook.
HP Pavilion DV6000 New Notebook Specs:
Processor: Available with Mobile AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core and Mobile AMD Sempron processors Screen: 15.4″ widescreen with HP BrightView Graphics: Optional NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200 discrete graphics. Standard NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 graphics and NVIDIA nForce Go 430 chipset with AMD processors. Wireless: Integrated wireless support for 802.11 b/g, configurable 802.11 a/b/g, Wireless LAN and Bluetooth technologies on select models Media Card: 5-in-1 media card IEEE1394 / FireWire port Three USB 2.0 ports on select models, ExpressCard/54 slot Speakers: Integrated Altec Lansing stereo speakers OS Options: Microsoft Windows XP Home SP2 or Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2. Battery: Standard 6-cell or optional 12-cell battery available for additional battery life Weight: weight starting at 6.5 lbs Two omni-directional microphones on select models with integrated camera Optional dual stereo headphone jacks — one with high-definition digital audio support (S/PDIF capable) Optional HP Pavilion WebCam
Design:
The dv6000 has a slightly modified look from its previous generation model. Most notable is the cooling system. It is totally redesigned. Is it better now? Unfortunately that’s a negative. There is an extra fan now, probably for making sure the machine can keep cool with the new ATI Mobility X600 graphics card. The entire rear of the notebook is dedicated to having vents for cooling, thereby sacrificing the parallel port from the previous generation. Even with a number of vents, the computer still gets very hot and the fans spin up all the time and they are loud.
Acer Notebooks Reviews – Surprising Truths
Saturday, May 22, 2010 17:38 No CommentsThe Acer is a brand of notebooks that sits somewhere in the middle. For most people the idea of them being on the high end of quality is usually nonexistent, with most choosing some of the more decorated brands. However when critiques rated these notebooks, they were pleasantly surprised and found most of them to be even better than previously thought. This view has changed most minds about the Acer notebook family. With just a few mild complaints, these notebooks were rated very well.
Acer Aspire 8940G is a notebook with a lot of charm. It offers an Intel core 17 processor with 8GB system memory. You can have the optional blu-ray feature with a player and writer and Dolby-optimized sound system. This notebook offers a super multi webcam that provides many features when using the video camera. It has cine surround speakers that allow its five speakers to provide a high quality sound that make movie and video watching high quality.
The notebook also has a huge screen at 18.4″. It has a large glass screen looking monitor that rates not so well on the glare and reflection aspects. The keyboard is set up well, with large flat buttons and a mouse pad that is responsive to the touch, with no lag to it. However, some complained that the mouse pad was too big, making it set up when it wasn`t needed.
